I’m unable to access the 4TB internal music storage on Nucleus.
On Roon Nucleus System Status, Roon database & settings shows OK, but shows 0% of 114 GB available. How do I free up this database?
When logged into Nucleus ARC shows ready. But when logged into PC remote, ARC is unable to connect to the core. Is this a problem?
Displays: How do I get Roon to connect to TV or tablet displays for showing music and lyrics playing?
RAM & Internal Storage
I have a new Nucleus with installed internal SSD 4 TB drive. I don’t know where to find the RAM?
Connected Audio Devices
Roon Ready Eversolo DMP-A6 Music Streamer connected via ethernet cable, Sony HT-A9 wireless speakers, and Sony HT-A3000 wireless speakers, Bose 300 Smart Soundbar (All are working with Roon Nucleus) Vanatoo Desktop speakers working from Eversolo Streamer connected to Cayin IDAC-6 MK2 DAC and are working fine.

Do you have any additional network hardware, like additional routers or managed switches?
No.
Does your network have any VPNs, proxy servers, or enterprise-grade security?
Using Express VPN on Laptop.
No issues with the VPN that I am aware of.
No proxy servers or enterprise-grade software on network.
Is the Nucleus new or have you been using it already for a while? How many albums / tracks do you have in your Roon library? That 114 GB database disk really should never be 100% full unless your library is enormous.
I would postpone all your other questions / issue until this is resolved. As long as the database disk is 100% full, it most likely affects everything else. This needs to be sorted first.
You are probably best off waiting for official Roon support because something is not right.
Though If the Nucleus is new and you don’t have a library on it yet, or if you have a working backup (and are sure that the backup is good), you could theoretically hit that Reset button next to the data base info in the web administration interface. See here:
But anyway, regarding the other things:
To access the 4 TB music storage, see the documentation here:
For connecting to TV, see here:
The ARC thing should really wait until the database size issue is clarified.
Thanks so much for the information and guidance above. I reset the database and it now shows 100% of 114 GB available.
On accessing Nucleus’s internal storage, I was able to find its location on the network. I started transferring 5 GB of music to try it and it currently shows 4 hours to transfer. Do you know if this is normal? Is the transfer rate from the PC to the Nucleus’s internal SSD drive always this slow?
Thanks again for your assistance, I appreciate your time.
Great. I still don’t understand why it would arrive with the DB disk full though. Maybe Roon support can clear that up later.
Is your Nucleus and the PC on wired Ethernet or one/both of them on wifi? That will determine the expected transfer speed.
However, 4 hours for 5 GB is extremely slow even over wifi.
That would be about 2.8 Mbits/second, that’s 2 orders of magnitude slower than decent wifi:
I received the Nucleus with the 1 TB SSD. I replaced it with the Roon recommended Samsung 4 TB SSD.
Both the Nucleus and the PC I have connected via ethernet through an unmanaged Netgear Switch:
( NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch (GS305) - Home Network Hub, Office Ethernet Splitter, Plug-and-Play, Silent Operation, Desktop or Wall Mount).
Looks like a good network setup. If that Ethernet splitter (whatever it is ) isn’t doing weird things, you should be looking at more like 800 Mbit/s throughput over wired Ethernet (if nothing else is hogging the network) and hence about 1 minute to transfer 5 GB.
Yean I am going to have to look into this to find out how I can improve the transfer speed.
Right now I have the port feeding off the router into the switch, with the other 4 ports connected with my TV monitor, Laptop, Eversolo Music Streamer, and the Nucleus.
When I transfer files should I disconnect the TV and music streamer? If they are not being used that shouldn’t make a difference in transfer speed, should it?
If everything is connected to the unmanaged switch and/or router, that’s just fine and should not slow down anything at all. Any half-decent switch delivers full speed over all its ports
You will first have to connect something to the ports, and then it depends:
A connected USB drive should be visible when you click Roon Settings > Storage > Add new folder. It should be visible in the window on the left after clicking “Add new folder”. Select it and it will be added as a new folder in the list in Settings > Storage.
I don’t have a USB DAC but I guess that maybe after connecting it might simply appear in Settings > Audio where you can enable it as an output and configure it. Not sure but somewhere there
