Roon doesn’t work with just a tablet. You need at least some sort of computer to run the Roon Server.
If Roon worked previously, you must have some sort of network because Roon needs Internet access (at least occasionally) and the tablet needs a network (Wi-Fi) to communicate with the Roon Server.
Please try to explain your setup it as much detail as you manage, to make it possible to help you.
Welcome to the Roon community! I’m sorry to hear you’re having a “lost in the woods” moment with your music after resetting your tablet. Since you mentioned being new to computers, I’ll keep this very simple.
Based on our internal look at your account, we’ve found two things that are currently stopping the music:
Roon isn’t like Spotify or YouTube where the music lives only in an app. Roon needs a “Brain” (which we call a Roon Server) to be running on a computer in your home (like a Mac or Windows PC).
Right now, your account shows no active Roon Server.
Your tablet is just a “Remote Control.” If the “Brain” isn’t turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi as your tablet, the tablet won’t find any music.
It appears your Roon subscription is not currently active. Even if you have the equipment set up, Roon requires an active trial or paid membership to let you log in and play music.
Check your subscription: Go to your Roon Account page and make sure your subscription is active.
Turn on your “Main” computer: If you previously had Roon working, it was likely installed on a computer in your house. Make sure that computer is turned on and the Roon (or Roon Server) app is running.
Connect the Tablet: Once the “Brain” is on, open the Roon app on your tablet. It should say “Looking for your Roon Server” and then show you a Connect button.
A quick question to help me guide you: Before you reset the tablet, did you have a dedicated music player (like a Nucleus) or was Roon installed on a laptop or desktop computer?
