Unable to Access Music Folder on Naim Unitiserve via Roon (ref#DCPCWE)

How can we help?

· I'm having trouble adding music to my library

Describe the issue

I have a Naim Unitiserve. The music folder is \\NSSRV3834\Music. This is set up as a network share. I can see it on my laptop as a folder. I cannot get Roon to add it. When I click the folder on my laptop like I did for a previous Unitiserve, I can't access the content. I used to have 4 folders. Now I get a message to say I don't have permission to access the folder.

Describe your network setup

TP Link Router, Mesh network, Roon Core on NUC

Hello @Chris_Speed ,

Does this thread by any chance help?

If now, are you able to try to connect to the Unitiserve via IP Address or use guest/guest as login/password?

That was my post from back in the day when I was installing my first Unitiserve:-)

I thought I knew what I was doing this time around. I can see the unit on my home network on the laptop and can stream it to my Linn DS using the Linn app.

I just can’t get Roon to access the folder. I enter the address and it just sticks at ‘adding’.

When I try to access the folder via my laptop is says access denied and that I don’t have permission to view it.

It is baffling.

I meant to add, that when I look at the properties for the Music folder I get a message to say that I don’t have permission to view or edit the permissions settings.

Chris

Hi @Chris_Speed,

Which machine are you attempting to access the Unitiserve folder on? Are you able to test out disabling the machine firewall temporarily and seeing if that helps?

Perhaps refreshing the share permissions you’ve already set would be helpful as well, along with a router reboot.
