Describe the issue

I have a Youfibre router. My laptop, NAS and ROCK server are connected via Ethernet cables. I copy music from my laptop to the NAS and then play using the ROCK. I can copy to the NAS but can’t access the NAS via Roon. The NAS is set up with SMB but when I try and add the folders in Storage I get Invalid Network Path.

Describe your network setup

Youfibre Arris router with Windows 10 laptop, Roon ROCK NUC 2.1Ghz Intel, Synology DS413J NAS. All connected by Ethernet cables.

Have you tested the path, username and password working from a device other than your ROCK?

Could you add another screenshot of Roon (with the path to the NAS)?

Hi, this is not a problem as I can access my NAS from my Windows laptop and copy music files (mainly) to it.

Sure, but that’s the problem. I can’t add the storage location.

You need a username and password.

While you have specified the host name, you didn’t specify the shared drive itself.

Actually you don’t, but I put in the share name (Music) as well and it’s worked now. I don’t understand why, as I’ve tried all options a number of times.
Thanks anyway, resolved.

Thanks mate, that was exactly the problem. Set up great now. Days of frustration solved.
