· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
I’m able to connect to the nucleus and it operates fine with my tidal account. Now trying to access the storage to move my NAS music files to the attached 2tb drive. It is not discovered in file manager
Welcome back to the forum! Unfortunately, automatic discovery is not yet available. To use the NAS with the Nucleus, you’ll need to add it as a watched folder path via Roon Settings → Storage. What is the model/manufacturer of your NAS?
You can usually find the hostname or IP of the NAS itself in the web control panel, and you’ll also need the name of the share (folder) and the credentials. Let us know if you have any issues, and we’d be happy to assist!
Thanks so much! I was not ever able to map the storage file. Windows could not find it. However, now I understand better how the Roon Nucleus One 2TB unit works (and its limitations for file management). I first disabled the SMB signing requirement per the instructions. After, I was simply able to open Roon>My Library>Albums. Then, in File Manager, I selected all the Albums on my NAS drive and dragged them into Albums. Worked beautifully. Thanks for providing the easy to follow directions. Everything is working great and I am now seeing the benefits of switching from my NAS to the Roon Nucleus. Roon should probably attempt to make this effort more seamless. Thanks again.
