Hi, I would like to know if there is any way how to find list of songs from the queue, which I played on device, which is no longer connected, nor visible to my Roon core. Is there like file which I can simply navigate to and rename, so basically same list of the songs will show up as a queue for Audio device I'm using for output right now? Thank you
Describe your network setup
Roon core (NUC) - Roon Software on Mac, everything on the same network, USB DAC connected to the core as of tight now, before it was streamer with built in DAC connected on the same network, no USB connection.
You’re looking for a combination of the Transfer Zone and/or Export function from the Queue page. The former transfers a queue from one active Zone to another. The latter exports a .csv file for Excel or a third-party app like Soundiiz.
You’ll still need the Zone for that Queue to be online/connected to transfer or export, of course.
Thank you for your reply. The problem is that I have already sold this unit.
Is there any way to at least find out the raw data in the form of song names in a file that exists in my Roon core file system or in the computer file system that I used to control music playback via the Roon app?
So your current issue doesn’t match your initial request then.
Queues are zone (device) specific in Roon. If you were able to bring back the zone, you should be able to see the queue and the contents your looking for (this is from my experience). So obviously the play queue(s) are stored somewhere.
Finding out where is probably considered to be “hacking” Roon and not an allowed topic. Keep in mind that Roon is a database software in it’s core and not file based. Poking around in a foreign application’s database may cause more harm than it does good. Maybe official support can help you further but I personally doubt it. Good luck anyway.
Sorry, maybe I messed things up here in my replies, but I have not been able to get the playback zone back, nor am I able to. I can only see the song I already played from that zone in the History tab, which can be accessed from the left navigation pane or from the Home page under Recent Activity.
Device which I used for that specific playback zone is no longer in my possession.
Unfortunately, without being able to activate the same Zone (associated with the same specific unique identifier in RoonServer/RAATServer), there’s no way to retain the (unplayed) Queue without a play count stored in the database.
When did you queue these tracks to this Zone? If you haven’t had this Zone connected in more than about 1-2 weeks, then the possibility of RoonServer logs retaining the queue event are unfortunately also slim.
In that case the logs should contain the information we need. Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?
My apologies if this was already discussed and I’ve glazed over it, but can you provide the specific name of the zone you’re referring to? Or, the device you were using as the zone?
This will help us examine your Roon Server logs for any clues.
Thanks so much for your patience! Our team was able to discuss your case further, and while they weren’t able to find anything internally, you may have some luck on your end if you’re able to find and review the following file:
