Hi @Tom_Shirley,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. @Jim_F has a good suggestion. Did it work for you? If not please explain what’s going on a little further. Does it ask for the AirPlay code when you try to start Roon or when you try to play music? Can you share a screenshot of the AirPlay code screen?
It only happens when I try to play music. This has never happened before. There is no problem with my IPad and IPhone. I have turned the MacBook Air off and on several times. Perhaps I should just delete the app and reinstall it?
@Tom_Shirley, in your Roon’s Settings → Audio section, do you have the MacBook Air AirPlay zone selected instead of either the MacBook Air’s System Output or Core Audio output option? The former is the only way I was able to replicate your question, and I could not get it to work without a convoluted workaround with my iPhone to input the AirPlay code (and then it would not play to itself at all).
Please confirm if you can change the zone to System Output or MacBook Air Speakers and Roon works again.
Robert _F - you are the Man! Problem easily solved - with your help. Many thanks to everyone who weighed in on this one. And be forewarned - I’m a 71 year old semi-technophobe, so I may well need more help in the future!
