Can`t accsess roon rock database with windows 11
Router from ISP (Telia)
Seems to be related to Windows 11 24H2:
I need some help from someone who knows a bit more about computers than me. I’m running ROCK on a NUC, the music is stored on a NAS. I’ve had it like this for several years, and it works great. However, after I changed my PC a little while ago, and thus to Windows 11, I can no longer access the roon database. Typing “\rock\data” in file explorer doesn’t work. I don’t need access to the database as such very often, but I had a plan to eventually replace my NAS with an external USB disk connected directly to the NUC. But that won’t work work well, since I wouldn’t be able to access that disk to add new music, etc. Accessing the ROON webUI by typing “rock” in the address bar works as before.
And, if I replace my somewhat aged NAS, will I have the same problem with a new NAS?
I have windows 11, home edition, version 24H2, norwegian language.
Thank you, since I have home edition I guess I have to jump to nr 8 there, but I`m afraid that is somewhat above mye head…
You got detailed instructions in the linked article and don’t even have to type anything as PowerShell supports pasting:
https://www.atera.com/blog/how-to-paste-in-powershell/
So you can simply copy the command lines from the linked article and paste them into PowerShell on your PC.
Ok, thanks, and is it completely safe to do this? I’m not messing with anything else on my computer or my network? I usually don’t like doing something I don’t really know what is, or what is happening when I do it
Follow the instructions and you’re good to go.
Thank you so very much, that did the trick
