· It's just a local server, all hifi components share same network switch and was working with exactly the same setup previously.
Since you’re running macOS, the behavior you’re seeing is consistent with the newer, stricter Local Network permission controls in the recent macOS releases.
Please try the following steps:
Open macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network
Make sure Roon and Roon Server are both enabled
Even if they are already enabled, please toggle them off and back on
Fully quit Roon Server from the macOS menu bar / task bar
Reboot your Mac
After reboot, launch Roon again and check if the devices is avaliable again.
Once these permissions are refreshed and the system restarted, your audio devices should reappear.
Please let us know if the issue persists after these steps, and we’ll continue from there.
Hi
I am not running MacOS. I did have it on my Mac but unistalled them.I use a dedicated Windows pc for this.
Even when Mac shut down and when I select the Windows PC as my Roon server, it hangs, just the Roon logo thing. I only want the windows ps as the Roon server. As I stated earlier, all was working fine until I was pushed by Roon to pay for another server, which I do not require.
Thanks
The authorization screen you encountered can occur when Roon Remote thinks it’s been installed on a separate computer from your original server.
Our account diagnostics show that a Roon Server instance was recently still active on your MacOS computer. You’ll need to ensure the old server instance on the Mac has been deeply deleted; this requires a few more steps than an uninstall.
On the Mac Mini:
Exit out of RoonServer from the menu bar if it is still active
