Thanks for writing in! Based on your description and what your running Roon Server on, it sounds like you’re having some issues setting up watched folders on your Mac.
Are you having issues connecting to your RoonServer from a Roon Remote? Or are you attempting to set up a Watched Folder from a music server that you’ve set up as a network share?
The first step is to ensure that the OS hosting your RoonServer allows for third-party network connections and isn’t blocking SMB.
@benjamin shared an article above to double-check this on MacOS.
If you’re using a Windows 11 RoonServer and attempting to mount a third-party NAS, you’ll also need to re-enable guest fallback using the steps in this article.
Do you have any third-party firewalls or anti-virus software installed? Ensure that RoonServer has been added as a safelist item.
Lastly, how specifically are you entering the filepath? Try using the IP address to connect instead. For example:
\\192.168.0.1\Music (for example)
Ensure that you’ve removed any special characters from the share’s password as well, if relevant.
We haven’t seen any response to this thread yet and our diagnostic servers aren’t able to confirm whether you’re still having issues with this network share.
Please reach out in the next several days to prevent the thread from auto-closing. The posts above contain some useful next steps to try in the meantime.
