Description Of Issue
I am unable to add HLS radio streams when adding radio stations. Roon tells me “Roon could not find a radio station at this URL”.
Looking on the forums, it suggests this should be working as other Roon users and moderators have confirmed this.
The stream URLs all work in other applications. I have restarted the core and players several times, and tried adding them on various devices (laptop, desktop, ipad, phone).
The first one also doesn’t work for me - this is because the playlist refers to ‘chunks’ which are used to drive the playback, which Roon cannot handle at this time. (NB: This isn’t a HLS specific issue, it appears that more and more internet radio stations are taking this approach)
The BBC feed should work outside the UK as it is only 128k feed.
I have the same problem! Also with KUT or KUTX which offer high quality AAC 256kbps VBR streams via HLS which don’t work on Roon. Only able to use their MP3 streams at 192kbps CBR.
ME TOO!!! Occasionally I can get KUTX to play the stream intro on HLS but then it fails. The second KUTX HD2 HLS stream won’t even add as a valid stream…throws an error. I think the regular HLS stream used to fail like that as well but now it will at least let you add it as a valid stream (but won’t play).
Too bad b/c KUTX is freakin awesome and it would be great to have it in higher res. I’m tempted to put a radio tuner in my rack in the meantime but really don’t have the space.
