Unable to Back Up Roon to External Hard Drive (ref#Y7AF8K)

· I have a PC with an external hard drive. My Roon core is connected with a network switch to my PC. I run Roon on an iPad.

You have to set up file sharing on Windows to share the external drive on the network, similar to here:

Instead of adding this shared drive as a watched folder as described in the above link, add it as a network storage in Roon > Settings > Backup:

It may be easier to simply plug an external USB drive into the Nucleus/ROCK. (I suppose you mean a Nucleus or ROCK when you say “Roon Core”)

I was unable to figure out how to use a file share name and path to get Roon to back up to an external hard drive. Therefore, I used the suggested easier method of plugging a USB drive into the back of my Innuos Zen Mini Mark III, which I use as a ROCK. The backup worked well. Thank you, Suedkiez!
