Unable to connect my Asustor NAS In 432 EVO ROON Core

Describe your network setup

Modem : Helix by Videotron
Router : Unify
Switche : LHY Audio SW 6

Hey @Michel_Maltais,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your report - welcome to the community! We’re excited to have you here, but we apologize in that its an issue that prompted your recent post.

Digging right in - we’ll need a bit more information around your Roon ecosystem and your network setup. How is your NAS connected to your router specifically, as well as your EVO running Roon Server?

Can you temporarily bypass your network switch, and see if you run into the same issue?

With that, can you reproduce the issue and share a more specific date and time?

I’d also review this KB article to ensure proper share settings are enabled on the NAS itself:

We’ll be on standby for your reply and results! :raised_hands:

Hello,

The Asustor NAS is connected to my switch.

The 432 EVO (Master) is connected to the same switch.

The LHY SW-6 switch is connected to my router.

I can’t bypass because the switch is far from the router and the 432 Evo and NAS is connected to the same switch.

Before using the 432 EVO, I was running Roon server which was installed on the Asustor NAS. Everything was going well.

I have uninstalled and erased Roon server in the Asustor NAS.

In the past I was using a Mac mini for the Roon Server : no difficulty in finding my NAS.

Roon works well with Qobuz

Thank you

Also, I have followed the tips in the FAQ

Some third-party firmware may provide their own means of connecting network shares (outside of Roon). Furthermore it might just be that the firmware is very outdated on your server and that is why you can’t successfully connect. Did you consult the 432 Evo manual or customer support already?

Hi @Michel_Maltais ,

I noticed that you have no username/password set there, I have yet to see a NAS with no user/pass before, are you able to double check your NAS account settings (or try to make a new account)? Usually you’ll also want to enable “Windows File Sharing” on the NAS side if that option is available. One final suggestion would to also try using IP address instead of hostname, I’ve sometimes seen Hostname be unreliable. Let us know if this helps!
