Mac Sequoia updated some of its security settings. I had to go into the Mac’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network tab and cycle Off then On to the Roon slider to re-open the connection to Roon from my MacBook Pro. This may need to be done everytime you reboot your Mac, but it seems to be the best approach for getting Sequoia to see a Roon Server over the network.
I was able to get Nucleus One to load using cycling settings in Privacy and Security. I do need to toggle this every time I start it. I also can’t copy anything to the server - I get an opps notification and the server is no longer connected.
A direct connection? If so, it’s best to connect over the network, possibly using a switch connected to your router and then connecing the Mac and Nucleus to the switch. or connecting both your Nucleus One and Mac to the router. Is this possible?
I don’t have a Nucleus One so not sure the best way to connect a Nucleus or ROCK to a Mac. I have removed the Solved status as this remains an open issue for you. Other users may have some suggestions, and Roon Support will return to the office Monday.
Hi Singleton - No I don’t - have Tallscale active.
Recap:
I can get Nucleus one to start using the suggestion that Robert made to toggle the local network - need to do this every time I start the server.
It plays back but for the most part I can’t copy files - was able to copy a file one at a time but that doesn’t always work - usually I get an oops can’t find server pop up box
When the program/server crashes I need to restart my computer as non-Roon programs won’t open.
Hi Tom,
I expect that you will here back from support tomorrow. Till then try this experiment…
Create a new user profile on the MacBook and under the new profile attempt to access your server and report back. This may provide some clues and you may at least have temp access to Roon etc
Hi @tom1,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. Can you please ensure that your Mac server is deauthorized? You can only run one Roon server instance per a license and I see from your screen shot that the Mac server is active. If that doesn’t help please try the test that @Singleton suggested.
I’ve activated diagnostics mode for your account and am looking over the log set. Unforuantly, this issue is a bit more complicated than just reauthorizing your Nucleus, according to the logs, it looks like you your SSD has started to fail.
