Describe the issue

I just connected a new nucleus one as a replacement for a defective Roon Rock. When I try to connect to the nucleus one via my Roon app on my Mac mini it is never found. The following content was pulled from my Mac mini via the terminal app; nucleusone.lan (192.168.12.200) at (incomplete) on en0 ifscope [ethernet].

Describe your network setup

The nucleus one is connected to a gig switch via ethernet. All switches have been reset. I'm using T-Mobile as my internet provider. Every Roon end point is connected via Ethernet. My network has not changed in 3years. The Roon Rock worked fine until the fan failed and the unit overheated.

Hi @George_Spink,

The Nucleus One hasn’t yet reached out diagnostic servers, suggesting that it might be isolated completely by an active security feature in this network. You mentioned antivirus software in your post above - have you ensured that RoonServer is added an exception in any security software?

Please share a screenshot of the Nucleus Web Administration page for the new unit here.

Also, please ensure that your MacOS instance (if it’s 15.0 or above) has granted local network access to Roon. You’ll need to open the MacOS System Settings and navigate to Privacy & Security → Local Network to toggle Roon’s access on/off.

We’ll watch for your response. Thank you!

Upon further investigation I discovered that my external SSD attached to the Nucleus One was causing the problem (not the network or security software). Once I replaced the SSD all is well.
