· I have the roon nucleous output usb to a custom dac by space lab tech hooked to a dynamo preamp and amp. Preamp and amp work great with other inputs. I can’t get the roon to dac setup working. Roon remote is on my iPad latest version of iOS.
Tell us about your home network
· Firebox t40 hardwire eithernet to unify switch 8. Then hardwire Ethernet to ubiquity switch in living room. Roon Hardwired to ubiquity switch. As are Apple TV 4K and Sonos also connected to that switch. A hardwired ubiquity WiFi 7 allows connection to iPads and iPhones. No vpn. Everything works fine except the roon nucleous 1 and DAC connection to preamp/amp.
Thanks for response. No I can’t seem to change it. On the audio page it seems stuck on HDMI out and I need usb out. That is probably the problem but no idea how to change. I can’t pick from a menu of manufactures as it is custom.
You should be able to scroll down in Settings > Audio to Other Network Devices where USB devices should show up that are not classified as Roon Tested.
(EDIT: Actually see the below post for the correct location in Audio)
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your question with us.
We have reviewed the diagnostics from your Nucleus, and we can see that an “SMSL USB AUDIO” device is currently detected.
To get this working, you will need to enable it in your Roon settings. Please check the following:
Navigate to Settings > Audio.
Scroll down to the Connected to Core (or "Directly connected") section.
Note: Your DAC will be listed here, not under the "Roon Ready" or "Roon Tested" sections.
Do you see the SMSL DAC listed in that section?
If you are still having trouble finding it or enabling it, could you please share a screenshot of your entire Settings > Audio page so we can take a closer look?
Please share a screenshot of the Settings → Audio page within Roon if you’re still having issues. We’ve activated diagnostics from the Nucleus One in the meantime, which will upload automatically to our servers the next time the unit is online. We’ll check these to confirm that the device is announcing itself to Roon.
