Just to add some detail. I have followed the instructions to enable SMB (and disable FTP) on the NAS. I am able to see the NAS folders via Finder with no issue but when I try to add the storage it will not work - as per screenshot.

I have also set up a Plex server on the Mac mini pointing to the same NAS and this worked first time.

Leave off /music and see if it offers to allow you to select it in a subsequent step.

In the Mac OS settings I can see this option - Roon does not have access to Network Volumes but I can’t see how to change this

I messed with some settings on the NAS, restarted everything and now it’s working but I can’t say what it was - thanks for the replies
