Roon Core on Sonic Transporter. Currently using Trinnov Altitude as Roon Ready device to run playlists, etc. Just purchased Eversolo DMP-A8 which is listed as Roon Ready but when i access Roon on my laptop is shows the Eversolo as another device using AirPlay. It is not recognized as the Roon Ready device and is not playing higher than 44.1.
I assume these settings you are describing are in the Roon player software under Audio.
When I select Eversolo it is listed as Other Devices and has “AirPlay” icon and cannot be changed to Roon Ready - there is no such option to change it.
I wonder if this is related to my Android Pixel 8 or if the Eversolo DMP-A8 needs a firmware update. I cannot locate an update and the Eversolo says my firmware is current.
Yes. There are different sections for different protocols. If a device supports more than one protocol, it appears under each one and you enable them separately (and you can enable them more than once, if desired). In my case, the Naim and the WiiM appear once under Roon Ready (enabled) and once under Other as AirPlay (not enabled). Does your Eversolo not show in the Roon Ready category?
My Eversolo only shows in the “Other network devices” category. I have enabled, disbled, and tried various tricks but it always shows in the “Other” category as an Airplay device.
It does not show in Roon Ready category, and I don’t see how to get it into the Roon Ready category.
That’s why I’m suspicious i need a firmware update.
When I turned on Eversolo today it notfied me that an online upgrade was available. I installed it and am now running 1.3.30. The Eversolo now appears as both Roon Ready and Airplay devices. I selected the Roon Ready version and it’s playing as expected and playing up to 192/24. Haven’t tried higher yet. I’m still experimenting but so far so good. Problem appears to be solved.
