Unable to connect to Core after Roon 1.8 (Build 880) update

Virtual Machine
Ubuntu Server 20.04.3 LTS
Intel Xeon L5640 (4 vCPU’s assigned)
6 Gb RAM

Networking Gear & Setup Details

Core and bridges are all wired connected
Remotes uses WiFi

Connected Audio Devices

Bridges:
Raspberry Pi with DietPi > USB
SOtM sMS-200 > USB

Remotes:
Android phone
Windows 10 computer

Number of Tracks in Library

Description of Issue

After updating all my devices to build 880, any connexion attempt to the core fails. (see screenshot from Win 10 computer but the problem is identical on an android phone):

Core/Bridges/Remotes have all been restarted after update.

Problem solved by allowing incoming TCP ports 9330 to 9332 in the Linux firewall

For those running their Core on Ubuntu server and using UFW firewall:

  • sudo ufw allow 9330:9332/tcp
  • sudo systemctl restart ufw
