Unable to connect to Nucleus after re-boot

Roon Server Machine

Roon Nucelus Serial #54B2038B9A00
Samsung internal SSD

Networking Gear & Setup Details

I re-booted my MacBook pro, my eero router, and still unable to load from the core. eero is connected to the Nucleus via ethernet via 2 switches (Netgear). Re-connecting the ethernet cable to re-initiate the connection has not helped.

The Nucleus has a static address from the eero router.

Connected Audio Devices

The Nucleus connects to a Bryston BDA-3 via USB. Endpoints include the Bryston, an NAD T778 (linked to the Bryston) and two other Bluesound speakers.

Number of Tracks in Library

Library is 68,000 tracks.

Description of Issue

Troubles ever since the last software update (1253). At first, searching was very slow (minutes) to retrieve albums, especially from Qobuz but also from the SSD. Today I needed to restore the db, which went smoothly. But playing to two linked endpoints often got out of sync; I tried re-booting the Nucleus but then I couldn’t load Roon. I would get the page to allow connection to the core, but then I get the Roon animated symbol, which has been going for over an hour and no connection or loading of material.

The web interface works, and shows everything is OK.

A long shot, but could you try reinstalling the Roon OS using the Web Administration interface? Your database and settings will be preserved in this.

Thanks Geoff. After 2 more re-boots, I now get the Add Music screen, which had not shown up previously. It shows ‘Music Folder’ but not the internal SSD (unless this is the same??). When I try to add a folder, I simply get the (old) network shares and backup locations. So I must need to tell it to go to the internal drive, but cannot figure out how.

Re-installed the OS. Still not finding the music folder; different interface, but the same problem – ‘add music’ doesn’t ‘see’ the internal drive, despite its listing on the admin page.

One more re-boot, after OS reinstallation, and the initial Roon screen appeared on my Mac interface! This allowed me to go to Settings>Storage and try to Force Rescan the internal storage folder (no go). So I restored from a backup and (finally!) got the interface working with all music loaded.

Will update if further problems. Thanks again, Geoff.
