Describe the issue
I cannot connect to my Roon nucleus. I’m not very tech savvy. It was working one day ago, then suddenly stopped. Nothing on my network has knowingly changed. I use apple iPads to access Roon and none will connect. Just before this happened I would periodically loose connection but it always return shortly on its own. I’ve worked thru the support algorithm but nothing has worked. Frustrated.
Describe your network setup
Roon nucleus Ethernet connection. iPads by wireless. Spectrum router. I do boost internet with Aruba on but this is not new and the roon nucleus is a wired connection
Thanks for reaching out with your message. I activated logging for your account but noticed quite a few networking issues. It looks like your logs are filled with errors regarding network shares as being offline as well, perhaps there is some deeper issue at play? Are there any switches in the equation? You’ve tried rebooting the router, correct?
I’ve rebooted the router and device multiple times. Every other device connected to my network works correctly, except the nucleus. It comes up as my network but when I select to connect to it, all I get is your searching icon.
Not sure understand what you’re asking.
I have a Roon nucleus connected via internet.
I’ve never been asked to update it nor would I know how. I thought updates happened automatically. How do I determine what update I’m on and how can I update it when I’m unable to connect
Forgive me for being tech illiterate.
I tried the above several times without any changes. I can see my room nucleus and get its information ip address etc but I cannot get it to connect, even after all the above done several times.
I’ve tried everything above w/o success.
I recently tried to delete, redownload and reinstall Roon core to my Mac mini but that seems to have made things worse. I can no longer access the Roon nucleus at all and I’m asked if I want to use Mac mini as the core, which I don’t.
I’m not tech savvy at all so I’m frustrated at not being able to access Roon since I converted to a life Ty subscription about 1 month ago when I was still able to access the Roon nucleus and use the service.
Nucleus is connected directly to spectrum router, it’s on and restarted several times as per above instructions.
Please help me get back into Roon, I really enjoy using it.
Thanks for the update, and I’m sorry you’re still having issues connecting to your Nucleus. Based on your account information, we’re seeing the Nucleus is on the latest updated, and is still online and active with our servers - so thats a good sign!
Do you still have this issue across all of your other remote devices, like your iPad, and iPhone?
Can you access your spectrum router settings and confirm all your devices are running on the same local subnet within your network? Do you have both IPv6 and IPv4 enabled? What happens if you disable IPv6 temporarily?
As another test on your iPhone, can you open Roon Arc and see if you’re able to connect?
