I’m getting really sick of this happening every few weeks due to a Roon server issue not on my side and there being no effort on Roon’s part to communicate a problem when I’m paying for the service
All I ever seem to get are replies saying “me too” and never any acknowledgement from Roon themselves to recognise this recurring issue
I can sign in fine, I can play music just fine and I can access my library fine - it’s Search that doesn’t work and it’s getting tiring not being able to search through my own library due to a Roon server problem
The last time you reported this issue was when there was a Cloudflare issue affecting thousands of users. As this time it just seems to be you, you’ve done the right thing by opening a support request so that the support team can review your system’s logs to diagnose what is happening now.
If you haven’t already done so, change the DNS settings in the Smart Hub from ‘Auto’ to ‘No’, and add these servers:
| IPv4 | IPv6 |
|---|---|
1.1.1.1 |
2606:4700:4700::1111 |
1.0.0.1 |
2606:4700:4700::1001 |
This may not resolve the issue, but it will help Roon performance since Roon uses Cloudflare services.
Unfortunately the BT Home hub doesn’t support DNS changing. It’s a piece of ■■■■ I know, but I’m locked into it on a contract so I have to make do. I use the Cloudflare DNS on my PC which is my Roon server and it’s what I was attempting to search on (though I tried my phone too, same issue)
This consistently happens every few weeks for me - search is now back, usually lasts a couple of hours but it’s deeply aggravating.
Hello @Joseph_Hawker
Thank you for reaching Roon support. I have checked your post history and able to find only one support topic from 2025. Would you kindly clarify where you have raised this concern earlier?
I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.
