Hello @Ronaldo_Cristobal,
Thank you for the clarification — if your Roon Server was running on a Windows PC, you do not need to replace any hardware. You can simply reinstall Roon Server on Windows.
Below are the step-by-step instructions to completely remove and reinstall Roon Server on Windows.
1. Stop Roon and Roon Server
- Close the Roon app.
- Right-click the Windows taskbar → Task Manager.
- If you see Roon.exe or RoonServer.exe running → select them → End Task.
2. Uninstall Roon and Roon Server
- Open Control Panel → Programs and Features.
- Uninstall the Roon
This removes the software but preserves your database.
3. Remove the old Roon database
Since you mentioned that the drive where Roon was stored was corrupted, it’s best to start with a clean database.
- Press Windows + R → type:
%localappdata%
- Find and delete the folder named:
- Roon
- RoonServer
- RAATServer
- RoonGoer
If you have a Roon backup on another disk/NAS/USB, keep it safe — do NOT delete your backup folder.
4. Download the latest Roon Server installer
Use this link:
Download Roon - Mac, Windows, iOS & Android Apps | Free Download
Download Roon Server for Windows.
5. Install Roon Server
Run the installer and follow the prompts.
After installation, open the Roon Remote (on your PC or phone/tablet), and it should find the new server.
6. Restore your backup (optional)
If you have a Roon backup:
- Open Roon Remote
- Connect to the new Server
- Choose Restore a Backup
- Point to your backup location (USB/NAS/local folder)
This will restore your library, playlists, edits, settings, etc.
If you don’t have a backup
You can start fresh — Roon will create a new empty database automatically.
