After installing the lastest Roon Update i found i could no longer connect to my Roon Server which is the Roon Server (Legacy) on the Synology RackStation RS1219RP+ due to it now also needing a update,Does anyone have a clue when the Roon Server Legacy update will arrive? Its our music server for our Hi End Audio Company and its used 24/7!

We are no longer pushing any updates to Roon 1.8 Legacy, unfortunately. There haven’t been any updates since November 2022, perhaps there may be so confusion across devices?
Based on your account information it looks like you have the latest version of Roon 2.0 installed across multiple devices. Are you still having issues?
Hi Ben, ok a liitle confusion here for me,the synology Rack station sever is where 18000 plus albums are stored and there there is no way of connecting it to Roon as it states update requiered and theres been nothing wrong with it until i did the update yesterday, and weve been using it since 2019 without issue, the problem is with also with and the only other device i use which is my iphone 12 pro which also cant find the server,so basically what im hearing is i think is that the synology rackstation is redundent or is there another to way to connect because i cant find it?
Hi Benjamin
It’s worse now than ever, even after a fresh install,Roon is using up to nearly 60 precent of the Mac Studio M2pro CPU bandwidth making it difficult to do anything else,it took 24 hours plus to down load 2700 out of 18000 albums which just dissolved into nothing only to start again after a Mac restart in a totally different state, now it’s constantly throwing up Errors and it’s just gone erratic,as I’ve explained before this is a working business machine that we need for the sale and demonstration of high end audio, you also didn’t answer most of my question regarding Roon Legacy if Legacy 2 will be available in the near future because the way things look I’m going to be stuck on 1.8 unable to move forward and that’s not right,we will be purchasing a new faster 12 bay Synology RackStation RS2423RP and it begs the question are we going to have a stable Roon Legacy or what👿
There will be no further updates or new features added to Roon Legacy, which includes your comment on Legacy 2. Sorry about this.
Can you confirm these are local tracks you’re having issues with, or were you missing tracks from your Qobuz library? We’re investigating a known issue linked to Qobuz that you may be experiencing. Please let me know, thank you!
hi Benjamin, well your answeared nothing really, we still havent got Roon working in any viable way,its not downloading even after a week Roon is struggling to reconise my library, ipads and iphones no longer work saying they require a update ect,and if there are no longer updates for Roon Legacy how do we carry on using our server meaning were stuck on the 1.8? im sorry to say but Roon over the last 2 years or so is so unstable,so so dissapointing
We’re seeing a few different devices running Roon Server, but it looks like your primary server is the Synology NAS, correct?
Is there a particular reason you haven’t updated this server to Roon 2.0? This machine should be capable of running the latest version of Roon. Here is more information on this process:
In addition to upgrading Roon on the machine, it also looks like you’re only hosting 2GB of RAM, which is likely insufficient for your library size of ~315k tracks. We suggest upgrading RAM on the machine as well - here’s more info on how to do this:
As well as a reference for compatible RAM for your machine:
After upgrading the RAM, and your version of Roon, please let us know how performance feels. Thank you!
