Unable to connect to Roon server (ref#KQ4277)

Here are a few initial troubleshooting steps to try:

  1. update your Roon Server to the latest version 1480
  2. check your mac firewall and ensure Roon and Roon Server are listed as proper exceptions (or temporarily disable it to test for connection) - https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/firewall
  3. If you have the option to ‘select a different Roon Server’ click this and see if your Mac is available
  4. Reboot both your Roon Server machine and your router

If none of the above help, try refreshing your Roon Server database:

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
