Describe the issue
Unable to connect to server
Describe your network setup
Hi, message appears ‘Choose your Roon Server’. The Roon server is the brain of your Roon system. It manages your audio devices, music library and any Roon remotes on your network.
Are you attempting to run Roon Server on a Windows PC or a MAC or are you running it on another device like a Nucleus, a NUC running RoonOS (ROCK) or even as NAS?
The answer will have a significant impact on the nature of the solution.
If you are trying to run Roon on a PC or a Mac, you should be aware that the Roon installer actually installs two applications: Roon and Roon Server. Roon Server needs to be run separately from Roon. Once running, there is an option to ‘launch at startup’ which should probably be enabled. For example, On my Windows 11 PC:
I don’t use Apple devices, but I believe that the application package for Roon also contains Roon Server. More details are provided in a post at:
If this does not help, you should describe your Roon system setup in more detail:
On what device is your Roon Server installed?
What OS does it run? (Nucleus and ROCK installs run RoonOS).
How is the Roon Server device connected to the Router that manages the ISP connection? It should be using a wired ethernet connection with nothing (WiFi extenders, Mesh WiFi etc) between (except, optionally, normal ethernet switches).
