Networking Gear & Setup Details

I’m on a wired connection running 1000mb it is dedicated to Roon and my music.
I don’t have a VPN currently set-up to avoid being told to turn off my VPN.
I don’t have port issues as I have kept everything open but my front door.

Description of Issue

Hi,
Since about Nov. 1 I have not been able to use Roon. First I was told that my device was not certified for ROCK, so OK it did work for a year but OK. So I took upon myself to learn some of the intricacies of running a “server” instead of a PC. I am now on RoonServer, the install is a success!! yeah! I even corrected a bug with the handling of the ethernet connection, a second yeah! but and you will understand because others have had the same issue, I can’t get the remote to connect because there is a BUG on the start.sh protocol in place.

Now for the second part of this ticket. I have come to Roon to listen to music, not to exchange on a blog or whatever it is called these days. You have got a good platform, but much like volumio, your support or service is not even at the worst level that one will ever encounter at Microsoft, and they are not known for their support.

Here is the error I am getting from the ./start.sh protocol. Let me know if anyone has come up with better solution than to stop the service, reboot and hope it’s fixed.

Hi @Robert_Audet,
Thanks for your patience while we worked through the queue. Here are some steps so we can troubleshoot your issue. First, try a hard reset on your NUC (i.e. disconnect the power for 10 seconds) then restart. If that doesn’t work we should next rule out SSD failure. If the SSD is still in working order then the issue is that Roon does not have permission to write to the /tmp/ directory. Possibly deleting the /tmp/.rnsgem0- file could help.
