· Can't create Roon Bridge or End Point (with Ropiee or MS200)
Tell us about your home network
· Fritz Box 6690 cable, Raspi 4B with 2 GB Ram and 16 GB SD, latest Ropieee, Roon Rock Version 2.1 (build 271) and Server Version 2.58 (build 1608) on PC with Ryzen 7 16 GB Ram,
I can see why this is frustrating—you have some excellent gear, but the connection logic between the Pi and the T+A is a bit misunderstood.
RoPieee turns your Raspberry Pi into an endpoint, but it cannot “stream” network-to-network to your T+A. It needs a physical audio cable connecting the Pi to the T+A.
The USB ports on the T+A Music Player are likely for storage (Sticks/HDDs), not for audio input from a computer (Pi). You cannot connect Pi-USB to T+A-USB.
You do need a HAT. specifically a Digital HAT (like a HifiBerry Digi+ or Allo DigiOne).
Pi + DigiHAT → Coaxial/Optical Cable → T+A Digital Input.
Once you add the HAT and select it in the RoPieee web interface, it will immediately show up in Roon’s Settings > Audio.
2. The Meridian MS200 Disappearing This is almost certainly a network discovery issue (Multicast/IGMP) with the FritzBox.
Reboot your router and the MS200.
If it keeps happening, connect the MS200 and your Roon Core to a simple, unmanaged “dumb” switch before connecting that switch to the FritzBox. This bypasses the router’s aggressive filtering. There is no direct IGMP Snooping toggle, but unchecking ‘Optimize WLAN transmission for Live TV’ helps significantly. However, since the FritzBox is aggressive with multicast, a cheap unmanaged switch is the technical workaround to bypass the router’s snooping logic entirely
3. The 20TB Library
For 28TB. USB connection is not the most sufficient way to hold your library. Please consider using the ROCK internal SATA drive or the network share.
Roon creates a unique ID for every track based on its location. If you swap drives, Roon will think you deleted the files. When you swap them back, it has to re-scan and re-analyze everything from scratch. This will kill your performance.
With 20,000 CDs (approx 250k+ tracks), your Ryzen 7 is great CPU is used only when you are applying the MUSE or any sound enchansements
