Hey @Louis_Schmukler,

Thanks for writing in! Sorry to hear you’re having issues getting your macbook remote to show as a local audio device.

Before anything else, it looks like you may have multiple active subnets within y our local network which could cause the issues you describe. Can you first confirm all your Roon devices are located on the same subnet?

Here’s more info on this:

> **[How do I know my devices are on the same subnet/IP range?](https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/how-do-i-know-my-devices-are-on-the-same-subnet-ip-range)**

> What is a subnet? When thinking about your network, we find comparing it with a university campus can be helpful. A university campus has different buildings for different departments, but they are all part of the same university. Similarly, a ...

Once you’ve confirmed this, and if you’re still having issues, let’s see if adjusting your macOS local network settings may help. Since you’re running **macOS** , the behavior you’re seeing is consistent with the newer, stricter **Local Network** permission controls in the recent macOS releases.

Please try the following steps:

1. Open **macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network**
2. Make sure **Roon** and **Roon Server** are both enabled
3. Even if they are already enabled, please **toggle them off and back on**
4. Fully **quit Roon Server** from the macOS menu bar / task bar
5. **Reboot your Mac**
6. After reboot, launch Roon again and check if the devices is avaliable again.

Once these permissions are refreshed and the system restarted, your audio devices should reappear.

Please let us know if the issue persists after these steps, and we’ll continue from there. 👍

Hey @Louis_Schmukler,

Following up on our last exchange, have you had a chance to confirm that your Roon devices are all on the same subnet and to refresh the macOS Local Network permissions for Roon and Roon Server? If you are still not seeing the MacBook Pro as a local audio device, please let us know what you found after those checks and we can take it from there. Please reply with any updates or questions.

Please note, if we don’t hear back from you this thread may close automatically soon. If the thread auto-closes and you need further assistance, please submit a reopen support request via the technical support help form below and specify that the issue should be reopened. Thank you.
