· Music won’t play or issues with my library

Music won’t play or issues with my library

· Local files won't import or appear

Tell us what's going on

· brand new user (OS Win11), ROCK setup, now cannot import. Storage page in Settings, selected Add Folder and I get an empty page, network share does not seem to work either.

Tell us about your home network

· don't know router model, cannot see/access it. My ROCK is connected via ethernet and the PC i am using is too.

Do you have the additional 2.5" drive for music storage installed and formatted in your NUC? I don’t see any evidence of it’s presence in your screenshot. Normally, I would expect it to be present by default and the “3 dots” menu for it to show up in a screenshot like yours, but it is not present in your screenshot. E.g.:

And this is the screen without the “Choose music storage folder” overlay:

Do be aware that you cannot/should not use the m.2 SSD in your NUC for music storage - you either have to add a 2.5" drive in your NUC (if your NUC model is equipped for this) or add a USB drive. The latter will show up in that “Choose music storage folder” screen - an Internal Storage drive never will - Roon adds it by default as shown above.

I’m also confused by what you mean by “ROCK setup on Windows 11” - ROCK is a self-contained installation of Roon Server and the Roon OS - you can’t install ROCK on Windows 11…

Hi @david7,

We can see that your Nucleus has only one physical disk, which is used for the OS and for running the Roon app.

If you want to store your music on the Nucleus, please add another drive - it will be used only for your music files.

Alternatively, you can connect a NAS or another SMB network share if you don’t want to expand the Nucleus storage.

Or, even better use an external USD HDD, formatted as exFat.

Hi @david7,

In case you haven’t seen it already, here’s our guide to ROCK internal storage and formatting:
