· I am having issues installing the codecs in the Roon ROCK directory. ROCK does not appear under Network. I have tried using the following path: \\ROCK\Data\Storage\InternalStorage and even tried just \\ROCK\Data\, but under Network setting only my WiiM Pro appears. I would appreciate your help.

· Roon ROCK is working on an Ethernet connection, the provider is Movistar (Spanish provider). I am not using any extenders or VPNs except for Tailscale.
In case of any issues with the access, there might be a case where Windows is blocking access to the Nucleus/ROCK internal storage due to its security settings regarding “Guest” access.
This is a common behavior in recent Windows updates (10/11), where the system automatically blocks network shares that don’t require a password. Since Nucleus is designed to be accessible without a password for convenience, Windows essentially puts up a barrier.
We have a step-by-step guide on how to adjust this setting in Windows so you can copy your music files:
thank you very much for your suggestions. I followed these steps, but ROCK is still not visible under Network. I also made sure to disable the firewall, although I am not sure if this might help. However, the local PC is now visible under Network, but not ROCK. Any further suggestions?
Thanks for the reply! Are you running multiple active subnets within your local network? It may be worth temporarily disabling all other subnets to ensure your Roon devices land on the same scheme. Here’s more info on this:
It seems after all that I did the steps correctly regarding the Guess access. The problem was when searching for ROCK in File Explorer, I did not use the correct path in the address bar. I have two Windows PCs, one displays ROCK using this path \\rock.local\data and the other PC using this path \\rock\data . This article helped me figure out the correct name path: https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/rock-importing-music#Before_You_Start
All my devices were correctly running on the same subnet 192.168.1.
I was able to install the missing ffmeg codec and import my music library.
Thank you for the update! We are very glad to hear that you were able to successfully install the missing codecs.
Just a quick tip for the future: if you ever have trouble accessing the Nucleus network share using its hostname, you do not specifically need to rely on the DNS name. You can easily bypass potential DNS resolution issues by using the direct IP address instead (for example: \\192.168.1.123\Data).
You can always find the current IP address of your Nucleus by opening Roon and navigating to Settings > Setup > Find Roon OS.
Since you were able to resolve the issue and get everything running smoothly, I will go ahead and close this topic. Enjoy the music!
