I had a Hipsurgery at the end of November and not been using ROON since. I can log into Tidal and Qobuz but am unable to launch Roon on my Mac Mini (no changes to my Mac nor to software) and dont want to loose my ROON music library. THANK YOU for your help
What happens if you click Select a Different Roon Server? It should ask you it it’s OK to disconnect from the current one, say yes. Then it should list the servers it finds, probably your usual one.
Hi @Franz_Broswimmer,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. Please try what @Suedkiez recommended and let us know whether it fixed your connection issue.
I explained and described in detail earlier why ROON was not working, i.e. not launching, and provided you with all the technical background information you requested. I contacted APPLE regarding SANDBOX as one of the possible causes, who in turn recommended I contact you on more details. I was unable to use ROON for many months and I'd be most greatful if you could help in this matter! PS: I can send uou a copy of the diagnostic results of "OS-Cleaner Pro App which states on both ROON & ROON Bridge:
Describe your network setup
"Disabled, application has full acess to your account" (OS-Cleaner Pro App Diagnostic anser to both ROON and ROON Bridge! Can share an image file on this result if you like; already shared all the router and modem information earlier! Thank you for all your help in resolving this ROON matter!)!
Please also tell us what Apple said literally. It says in your screenshot that the sandbox is disabled, so I don’t understand why it would be a sandbox issue.
Did you ever try what I asked in your older thread?
Let’s try a few due diligence items to make sure everything is in order with this install and database.
There are two “Roon” instances displayed in your screenshot. Make sure that you haven’t installed a current Roon download over a previous version of RoonServer, like Roon 1.8.
Do you have a Backup of your Roon library? Only take these steps if you have a Backup available:
Verify you have a Backup of your current database. This will be a location you specified to host Roon Backups, either manual or automatic. Make sure there are Roon Backups saved in that location.
Fully exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area or Activity Monitor)
Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
As a second step, make sure that no third-party security software or disk utility software (like the OS cleaner you used in your screenshot) is restricting RoonServer. Temporarily turn it off.
Lastly, please confirm the results of the step suggested above, “Select a Different RoonServer.”
