Describe the issue

When I loaded Roon on my new iPad, it wouldn't allow me to log-in on my iMac. I have Roon on my iPhone, too. Could be a subscription issue, not sure.

Describe your network setup

My Roon is playing fine via my new iPad and iPhone but it no longer allows me access via my iMac. Do I need to pay more for three devices? If so, explain how

Hi @tjmulgrew,

Welcome to the Roon community! We’re sorry that a problem brought you here for the first time, but we’re happy to help.

Can you describe exactly what happens when you try to log in? Since Roon uses a browser for the login process, does a browser window open when you attempt to sign in?

Here are a few general troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Make sure cookies are enabled in your browser.
  • Try using a different browser to complete the login process.
  • If you have a pop-up blocker on your phone, try adding Roon as an exception.

Let us know what you’re seeing, and we’ll do our best to get this sorted for you!

Did you load the Roon app on the new iPad from a backup, or did you load it fresh from the app store? It can be a problem if you loaded it from a backup. If you haven’t already, delete the Roon app from the new iPad then load it again directly from the app store, not from a backup.

I loaded it via the app store, not a backup

You don’t have to pay for each device. You only pay for a single subscription. The apps themselves are free.

Do you get a browser window with a login screen when you try to login on your iMac?

You should be seeing something similar like in my example. Left screen Roon app. Right screen it opens a tab in my browser so I can log in.

When I try to pull up Roon it says “you’re only allowed to sign in to 1 Roon server …”

Hi,

Sometimes Roon licensing server gets confused and thinks the current Roon Server is an additional different installation.

Just press the unauthorise icon, it’s quite safe, and then login as normal.

I did that and got Roon to open but it is only playing music via my iMac speakers. I want it through my stereo system.

I’m using a 3400 Lyngdorf integrated amp that is Roon Ready.

I went to the cog and then to audio but couldn’t get it to work.

Things are working fine via my iPhone and iPad.

Gotta be a simple fix but I am woefully low-tech.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Normally you just have to click on Enable and it should work.

I just kept enabling and it finally worked! Thank you. Happy camper here.
