As a first troubleshooting step, could you please try to log into your Roon account page? Is that something you can do?

If the trouble is logging into the Roon software, it is worth noting that the process involves logging in via a web browser. The pop-up might be blocked by the default browser, depending on your settings. In that case, there are a few things that can help:

  • Rebooting your Roon Server

  • Clearing the default browser’s cache and cookies

  • Temporarily changing your default browser

  • Checking to ensure that you don’t have popup or cookie blockers preventing the redirect

Hi @Steven_Bun,

Thanks for the details.

In addition to what Carl suggested, there’s one more simple thing to try with the login redirect flow.

When Roon sends you to the browser to log in:

  1. Let the browser open the Roon login page
  2. Immediately copy the full URL from the address bar
  3. Open a different browser (for example Safari → Chrome, or Chrome → Safari)
  4. Paste that URL into the other browser and complete the login there

This bypasses issues where the default browser, cookie container, or pop-up handling breaks the handoff back to the Roon app.

This is especially useful on iOS and iPadOS, where system WebView, Safari, and third-party browsers sometimes don’t share the same cookie or session state.

Please try this along with:

  • clearing browser cache/cookies
  • or temporarily switching the default browser

and let us know if the login completes successfully after using the copied link in a different browser.

Carl, the steps you mention above all didn’t work.

I will try this trick.

Hello @Steven_Bun ,

Yes, let us know how that goes. Also, you may need to perform an OS reinstall via the Web UI if you’re running a super old version of Roon:

Hi everyone, thanks for all solutions, but unfortunatelly all didn’t work.
I reinstalled ROCK, but even after that, ROCK refused to update to the latest version. I tried moving the ROON server to another home network, and it worked. The ROON server updated to the latest version and I was able to log in. After that, I added all my folders and restored a backup, and everything worked. Once everything was working, I returned the ROON server to its original home network. Now I can enjoy music again.
If I tried this before (moving to another network) maybe I didn’t need to fresh install ROCk.
Solution : try moving to another home network

Hello @Steven_Bun ,

Glad to hear that using a different network allowed the update to take place, this is great news. This does suggest that perhaps there is some kind of router-level firewall that may be blocking Roon’s servers. I would keep an eye on the system and should you have further issues with updates down the line, just let us know and we can take another look, thanks!
