Hey @Richard_Altesman,

Thanks for writing in, it’s good to see you on the community again! Sorry to hear about your login issues. A few immediate follow up things to test:

  1. Try using a different web browser - does that make any difference?
  2. Try temporarily disabling your Mac firewall
  3. Try logging in from a different remote device - like your mobile device
  4. Are you able to log into your account page via the Roon website here: Your Account

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you! :+1:

thank you for your rapid reply getting back to me. I Iactually have already tried all of those approaches before I contacted you. Yes, I can log into the account (Actually discovered I have been errroneously paying a monthly fee forever, rather than an annual plan… my bad). (FWIW, I had an old plan on a competitor of yours which I totally forgot about…. and that works fine.) Richard

Hi @Richard_Altesman,

Did you log out of Roon from the accounts page, since you were signed in there? Try logging out to see if the error message persists in the Roon application.

I’d start there to ensure that RoonServer is responding to the single-sign-on server.

Looking at diagnostics, this RoonServer instance was encountering crashes prior to the error you received. It also appears to be on an outdated build, suggesting that the server hasn’t been taking automatic updates.

Do you have a reliable Backup of your Roon database, either from manual or scheduled backups?

If so, the easist step would be to simply refresh your RoonServer database on this Mac Mini:

  • Verify your Backups are present in the folder hosting Roon Backups, if applicable. The steps below will effectively “factory reset” the database.
  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
  • On your Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
  • Restore the Backup

Let us know if this helps!

Hi,

Sometimes Roon licensing server gets confused and thinks the current Roon Server is an additional different installation.

Just press the unauthorise icon, it’s quite safe, and then login as normal.

thank you so much… that has helped significantly. you folks are terrific. Roon is now mostly up and running… a few issues remain, but I am optimisitc I can address those…I have been able to in the past… just haven;t had a chance yet to work at it again now. I may return here… but will start a new thread if I do.
