· Somehow screwed up logging into my room OS to upload codecs. Prompted to enter user/password, and it did not accept "guest" / "guest". Even attempted as a different user. Need help to reset.
Thanks for reaching out. Based on your description, it looks like Windows is blocking access to the Nucleus/ROCK internal storage due to its security settings regarding “Guest” access.
This is a common behavior in recent Windows updates (10/11), where the system automatically blocks network shares that don’t require a password. Since Nucleus is designed to be accessible without a password for convenience, Windows essentially puts up a barrier.
We have a step-by-step guide on how to adjust this setting in Windows so you can copy your music files:
Please give those steps a try and let me know if you are able to connect afterwards!
Thank you! It worked. But here is my problem…My iPhone app shows no artwork, rendering it useless. I was hoping that resetting my database would remedy the problem, but no luck. If I access via the roon app on my PC, all works flawlessly. But the phone app is so much more convenient. I have deleted the roon app on my phone and reinstalled it, all to no avail. Recommendations? Best Michaell Huber
Regarding your iPhone app: We cannot see on our side that your iPhone is authorized under your account; we actually do not see you having any remotes from iOS. Probably you signed in under a different account.
Can you please reinstall the iOS app from here and make sure to sign in under proper account?
If it won’t work anyway, can you please share with us a few screenshots from settings showing your profile and a screenshot from the home page?
For some reason, while we do see your iPad in the list of connected devices, we do not see your iPhone.
Could you please go to your iOS Settings > Roon on your iPhone and toggle on “Save logs to Files on next startup”? After doing this, please launch the Roon app, then locate the newly generated logs in the Roon folder within your iOS Files app.
Please upload these logs to our Logs Storage. This will help us review the logs from your phone and better understand what might be going wrong.
We reviewed them and noticed that your iPhone appears to have multiple active network interfaces/IPs, which may indicate that a VPN or another type of tunneling service is enabled on the device.
We can also see repeated socket connection failures when the iPhone tries to load image/artwork content from your Nucleus, which suggests that the issue is likely related to the phone’s local network path rather than to the Nucleus itself.
Could you please temporarily disable any VPN, Private Relay, DNS filter, ad blocker, or other tunneling/security software on the iPhone and then test again?
If the issue still persists, please also try resetting the iPhone’s network settings by going to:
Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings
