Unable to open PDFs on iPad due to security message (ref#EHAYQ1)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I have pdf’s stored with many of my local album files but I am unable to open them on my iPad without ignoring a message stating “This Connection Is Not Secure”.

Tell us about your home network

· Server is an Apple Mac Mini connected to Virgin Media router via Ethernet. The issue is occurring on my iPad which I use as a Roon controller

On the iPad, go to Settings > Apps > Safari and turn off the Not Secure Connection Warning:

Be aware that this affects all HTTP URLs that you open in Safari

Cheers @Suedkiez .

I guess I could leave as is and just ignore the warning when viewing my stored pdf’s in Roon.

Thanks

Paul

Or that

I think Roon would have to implement HTTPS for this, in order to avoid the HTTP warning when it’s enabled in the settings

Unfortunately, it’s not possible on the iPad to generally configure some other app (such as Acrobat or whatever) as the default handler for PDF files.

(In iPadOS 26 it’s finally possible to configure the Files app to use a different default handler, but this only affects PDFs opened from the Files app)
