Hello, cant reconnect to my nuc my streamer and nuc disappeard from the roon interfaçe ,i change apple ios from sonoma to sequoia on the imac the night before i usually use imac as remote for roon .(i disable the firewall as you advice ) ,i am quite lost ,thank you for your help .In the attach file, i join you the different settings of the nuc and streamer .for info i actually listen to roon whith the i mac and get into the interface through it .second question last time to use the nuc i had to disconnect totally the roon application and license because if not it always reconnects me on the previous server the Imac . ,if i have to redo this ,as last time ,(if i swap again from imac to nuc) ,i am afraid to loose my playlist one more time ,how can i keep them and transfert(if it is possible ).i double checked box ,cables ,switch there are no issues on any part.

hello thank you for your concern ,yes i did select the imac and restart NUC and router checked switch output ,cables from usb to rj45 ,everything is ok .i disconnect the roon app and desinstall the app ,reinstall the app on the imac ,reinstall and verify nuc core kit OS and roon database and settings finally reinsert codecs in the roon sofware and restart it .but nothing new even restarting closing or rebooting the nuc .The nuc appears as a core kit but is “connecting” for hours .After selecting and connect imac as server ,through roon interface /settings /set up the nuc is shown as roon optimised core kit ; i turned the nuc off and the music keeps playing ,it means roon core is still the Imac!I dont know what to do ,not any answers from roon support this is actually 6 full days i am trying to fix the problem ,quite desperate and unhappy with roon because of a very very poor support and so complicated app to run .thank you all for any help .Regards .Philippe Chevallier

Please don’t open duplicate support requests. It won’t get your issue addressed any quicker, and in fact may hamper the support process.

The support team is small (four people), they don’t work at the weekend, and they operate a queue system to deal with support requests. They will respond as soon as they can.

In the meantime, I note that you say you have recently moved to Sequoia. There is an issue here that is currently under investigation. See:

Thanks for your message and patience while we’ve had a chance to look over your case. I’ve activated diagnostics mode for your account and your ROCK was able to send a set of logs over to our server.

Looking over the logs, I am seeing something strange, it looks like the NUC believes it doesn’t have an IPv4 address at all, even thought it appears to be set up with a static IP according to your screenshot.

It looks like you might have a duel IPv4 and IPv6 network setup? Can you try to turn off IPv6 as a test, restart your ROCK and router to see if things improve?

thank you for your help ,i try to be patient but i sent my first help message on october 22 which is actually a week ago ,i can understand that 4 people in the support might be totally drawn under tickets and i am not blaming them at all ,i dont really understand how such a system is viable ,if only 1/1000 customers gets an issue it is between 100 and 250 problems to be solved a day ,it will be 700 for 5 working days .Is it reasonable to offer such a service,i met so many roon customers and resellers ,in the last audio shows i visited ,quite disapointed about this situation saying it became too hard to fix bugs and very time consuming when a new problem appears …I have no pretention to be able to do the roon’s job and make the company run in good order ,but trying to gently alert and make it durable and all of us happier . hello ,i contact the general support on the 22 who send me back the messsage asking me to contact the technical support because they cannot transfer it i wrote you on the th 24,time difference doest help too between europe and the states ,anyway this is not productive discussion and i don t want to waste your time with" who did what and when " .I am sorry if i looked offensive ,i know and understood you do your best with what you get (no sycophancy),my only excuse being that english is not my first language and technical exchanges are quite difficult to translate both ways , the important matter is fixing an issue and one more time ,make your company perrennial so both side can enjoy good sound and music and work with happiness .concerning my net and connection i have no idea if it helps but i can send you details of adresses ipv 4 and ipv6 in my router and mac .on this message i cannot load screeshot ,which way can i do it (only the title appears in the message when i dowload it )

Hello thank you for your message ,being French and try to make my best in a technical description ,It is quite difficult ,for me a least, to get all the subtility of the support ,i must add that some automatism sent me through tranlations i did nt ask for ,knowing" english to french- back to english" finishes like chinese to me.

i just like give new informations to the help support sending them new screenshots of what i discover in my system (ip,connections ,updates)which ,simutaneously, are running while i keep with the connecting issues to my nuc "roon optimised core kit ".
The problem appeared when i update from sonoma os to sequoia on an an Imac usually used as a remote before the problem .
i will add ,no news from roon support since oct 28 ,i don t know if it might help to get new informations …sometime i get a green light with the nuc i could connect to but here are the differentt windows leaving me at the same point

D’après vos commentaires, vous avez besoin d’aide pour désactiver l’IPv6. Cela peut se faire depuis la page d’administration de votre routeur. Il est difficile de vous donner des étapes exactes car les modèles fonctionnent différemment. Je vous recommande de contacter votre fournisseur d’accès internet (FAI) et de lui demander de vous guider dans le processus. Vous pouvez également nous indiquer quel FAI et modèle de routeur vous utilisez, et nous pourrons essayer de trouver des instructions pour vous. Cependant, contacter votre FAI reste la meilleure solution.

From your comments, you need help disabling IPv6. This can be done from your router’s admin page. It’s hard to give you exact steps because different models work differently. I recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and asking them to walk you through the process. You can also tell us what ISP and router model you are using, and we can try to find instructions for you. However, contacting your ISP is still the best option.

hello dear rescuers ,i contact “apple care” ,they proposed me to use another account on my imac and magically it worked out .i was able to connect the nuc immediatly ,the nuc is ready and the streamer (ifi zen stream) working .

i tried to understand what was ,and still is,wrong ,in a way to keep my usual account and help the community ,but ,as far as now ,nobody found any reason to the conflict .

Applications are the same ,documents ,images , settings library too,i am little by little trying to reinstall on the new account what could be missing to locate the faulty elements ,till now evrything is still working and what s missing are just elements ,not applications
.Sorry ,it s still a mistery.
There are no question of ipv4 or6 conflict or network settings,they are identicals .As soon as i have something new , i ll publish

It takes hours to copy settings on a new account ,not going through any backup like time machine on mac (risky to import a conflictual element).I took screenshots of the preferences of roon in the two different accounts and noted any differences; if it helps i can send it to whoever find it useful .any tracks or research i can follow are welcome

One last thing ,but so important for me ,i am really lost in transfering my playlists from one server to the othereven if i keep reading all items encountered on the support i find.I probably miss something and did t conclued at all ,only parts of my « list « of playlist have been transfered automatically with my account .If anybody could guide me ,thank you in advance .

Glad to hear you were able to get things sorted out!

What type of playlists are you referring to specifically? Are they playlists from a streaming service? Or, are they local playlists you’ve created in Roon?

Playlists are included within your Roon backups, so restoring a backup on your new server should bring your playlists with it. If they’re all from Tidal or Qobuz, logging into these services within your Roon profile on the new server will auto-load all your playlists and favorite tracks.

hi Benjamin ,thank you for your interest .i have through different adventure with roon in the las months .
to be clear

  1. had in first roon on an i mac as remote and core since 23 listening to qobuz.
    2)i swaped from i mac to a nuc this summer keeping the i mac as remote
  2. i had an osx update from sonoma to sequoia on oct 22

4)it became impossible to connect the nuc after oct 22,it appeared on roon settting- set up interface but not in the devices (settings -audi )since the OS update
5) i had to connect the only core available in the logging :my i mac ;and realised all the playlist i had at situation 1 which vanished in situation 2 reappeared .
6) after several day without any positive answers i contacted apple support ,and changing of user on the imac make the nuc’s connection avalable :miracle !!
7)as in situation 2 i lost a big part of the playlist (the ones i had in situation 1 and 5 ,the list i made after the swap 2 were abscent too.
8) Today i am trying to use the back-ups i made during position 5,but i miss something ; i don’t find the path neither the right recipe to back up ,having only the support of other users like you is time consuming and the technical support makes me wait now since days without any notices .
I hope you understand my story (and disappointment) ,if not don t worry i got lost too in the different episodes .If you have a quite simple action to insert the back ups in roon i will appreciate so much

.I dont really understand why customers( clients!) have to search solutions by themself and among the community ;is it so complicated to give a decent service .
Sorry but I blew my mind since 15 days now ; when i ignore the technical words (even in my own language)or have to translate first and use the internet with automatic translations , quite often,it becomes more confusing than helping .

hello again benjamin ,i might be because i made playlist sometime on roon and sometime on qobuz(have no idea ,i don t know the difference in the making) maybe a screenshot will help ,this could be the issue ,i ll try to understand how to do it in the way i ll be able to back more easily .As i see in the interface only qobuz playlist have been transferred during the different episodes .the others i created since 2 days are on roon only !

Of course ,if you can, once again, help me to find any solution i will be so pleased hear from you.

You’ll need to restore your current Roon database from a saved backup you’ve made prior. Here is more information on how to access backups:

Where do your backups live? How are you connecting them to your Roon Server machine?

hi Benjamin ,i put all my back up in a separate on an external disc connected to my imac with usb .i lost the list i made with the nuc , i know it s not very important from a n external point of view .The problem remains the same because only lists transferred to qobuz are kept in the roon application when i swap servers .

now two questions please
1)What am i missing or ignoring? is it mandatory to record playlist in qobuz to keep them when i need to change roon core ?
2)how can i swap roon servers in roon interface ,everytime i tried the answer is see pict (even if i disconnected the nuc before )

Thanks for the additional information!

No laughing at all - we’re all learning as we go, and I respect you and your troubleshooting efforts so far!

I don’t believe you’re missing anything, perhaps a bit of confusion on your playlist tied to streaming services, versus playlist you’ve created in Roon directly - which are tied to your local library instead of originating on Qobuz.

Based on your screenshot above, it looks like you’re attempting to use your Mac to run Roon Server as well (you can see the option to deauthorize your ROCK below it). If that’s the case, you can move forward with deauthorizing your ROCK.

Either way, to restore all your playlists, you’ll want to restore from one of your recently saved backups on the external drive. Let me know if this makes sense and if it answers your questions! :+1:
