Describe the issue

Lost my Core laptop. Unable to reinstall on a replacement PC. Help!!

Describe your network setup

Dell laptop with Core; McIntosh pre and power amplifiers, Kubala Sosna cables, B&W speakers

Please give more information. What happens when you download Roon for Windows from the Roon Labs download webpage and try and install it or your replacement PC?

Hi @Reg_Basimi,

A RoonServer machine from your account has registered online status with our servers since you posted here. Are you still in need of assistance here?

That may well be so. But I cannot use it because it says I have another instance running and I must shut that down first. But I’ve lost/misplaced the laptop, so can’t do that!

It installs OK, but I cannot run it because it thinks I’m trying to run 2 instances: the new install and the one on the lost laptop.

So if you’re seeing an Unauthorize button on the Roon screen, just click it to unauthorize your old Roon Server and transfer the licence to your new one…

So simple when you expain it! Works OK now. I tink you might want to add a couple more words to the unauthorise button to mek it more explicit.

…and thanks very much!!
