Unable to save Roon Backup database on USB drive during migration to Nucleus One (ref#8NOO8W)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· Trying to migrate Roon Core from Mac Book to Nucleus One, but it's impossible to save Roon Backup database on USB external drive and this writing always shows up: "Error loading folder: unauthorized"

Tell us about your home network

· I have a Netgear Prosafe Gs108 network switch, the router is a TIM HUB Plus

On the Mac Book Roon server, set the backup location as the external USB drive run the backup process.

Move the backup USB drive to the Nucleus One.

On the Nucleus One, before logging in, hit the restore from backup (small link, blue-ish writing at the bottom of the screen where the initial login happens).

Following the restoration you can then login.

Don’t try copying the original backup files to the USB drive.

Thank you very much, but I am not even allowed to set the backup location on the external drive because the following writing appears: “Error loading folder: unauthorized”

This might be a Mac related permission issue or the USB drive may not be fully supported by Mac OS.

Have you used this USB drive before with Mac/Roon?

Hello @attiliogeroni ,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for reaching out! How is the USB drive formatted (NTFS/MacOS/exFAT)? I would suggest checking the macOS privacy settings to ensure that Roon has full disk access. Are you able to save a backup to the Mac internal drive and then manually copy the backup over to the USB?

Exactly! Problem solved changing the Mac Book authorisations for Roon App.
Thanks for your help!
