Hi @chrispy90,
Thanks for reaching out to ask us about this issue. Can please provide a screenshot of your audio settings? That will help our troubleshooting process. After that please follow the below instructions to generate a new RAATServer on your computer. Please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

Please let us know if this fixes the issue for you!

Hello,
Will try what you sent me. Just now found how to get into the forum feed back. Was waiting for an email. Too late to get anything done today but will see if suggestions resolve problems tomorrow. Thank you for your time.

Hi @chrispy90,
Sorry about the confusion about how responses come through. We’ll keep an eye out for your response!

Hello,
I have looked for the go option under finder and I cannot find any of the options in the last message you sent me. Not sure if the new update on my Mac changed everything but nothing is easy to find or easily accessible. Not much of a free trial because I have not had anything work or work with anything. My Mac shows nothing is compatible with the Mac I have. Nothing is easy or plug and play. Not worth spending any money on a service that does not work no matter what I try to make work. Parse error keeps coming up with Roon arc on my dac and fatal error coming up on my Mac when I try to start Roon server now. I guess Roon is not going to work for me. I do not have all the time it seems to troubleshoot and hope for the best. Need a simple easy quick working program and apparently Roon is not it. At least I can say I tried.
Thank you,
Chris Peterson

Hey @chrispy90,

We absolutely understand where you’re at - not being able to get things setup swiftly and properly with new software can be infuriating.

That said, if you’re willing, we’d be happy to extend your trial period while we continue to troubleshoot things for you. Let me know if you’re interested in that and we can get that setup!

In the meantime, let’s see if a fresh installation of Roon on your Mac helps - follow the steps below:

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a macOS machine:

We’ll be on standby for your reply!

Hello,
If you could extend the trial while I troubleshoot that would be great. I will back up and reinstall on my days off and see if problem persists or resolves the issue.
Thank you again for all your help,
Chris Peterson

Hello,
Had to delete all the Roon apps because I was getting fatal error that kept popping up and would not clear out. Is there a step by step for install and order to install Roon app or Roon bridge on the Mac mini then Roon on my iPhone or which way to install would hopefully get rid of fatal errors. Also I tried Roon arc on my Astell and Kern Kann Max and it came up parse error which could be from installing the incorrect app on something else. Thank you again for your help and feed back. Will try again later after I feel better. Have been sick so did not do anything to check on compatibility issues yet. Chris Peterson

Hi @chrispy90,

We don’t have any specific guides for that but you shouldn’t need to do anything special. The fatal errors could just be a one time thing. Once you are able to do more testing let us know and we’ll continue to work with you.

I hope you feel better soon!
