The Roon version on the Mac is quite old, build 1413. You can reinstall the current version from the download page.

Hi @donherring,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I noticed that your two servers are on different versions of Roon. In order for the different parts of your Roon installation to work together they all need to be on the same version. The easiest way to do that would be to updates all your Roon software to the latest version.

That old version was the last time it worked.
I’ve downloaded the roon server and it looks like it installed but perhaps not. Is there an uninstall program?
I cannot get past the login page on the Mac running Sonoma. That’s when all my problems started happening.

Hi @donherring,

You can uninstall Roon by deleting the associated folders in Finder on your Mac and deleting the app itself.

What problems were you having when you tried to update the software?

No install issues reported. When I try to boot using the mac as the core, It goes on a circuitous route from the login, to the logon. It only works when I use the Roon in the Mytek.

Hey @donherring,

Thanks for the update - sorry to hear your issues persist.

For now, shut down the Mytek for simplicity, do you have a recently saved Roon backup available?

If so, follow the steps below on the Mac, for the Mac:

  • Create a Backup of your current database (you can skip this if you have a recently saved backup)
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a macOS machine:
