Unable to use AppleTV (4K) device, due to repeated Airplay Passcode prompts

Streaming to other airplay (non 4k) works ok.
I have:

  • Restarted NUC running Roon core [Roon 1.7 (build 555) ] and Apple TV
  • Disabled and re enabled Apple TV (4K) within Roon (show as being enabled in Roon)
  • Tried locally stored music and streamed data (Tidal)

None of this has changed the symptoms. Each Time the play button is pressed in Roon it changes the Airplay passcode.

Is there anything I have failed to do or is this a new defect

I am experiencing the same problem. It used to work. Anyone have a solution?

Never mind. Found the answer in this thread. Need to set a password on the AppleTV side.

I forgot about this (not my prime method) - This also fixed the issue I was experiencing
