Hi,

It looks like Nucleus One is running and discoverable on your network.

What happens when you click on Connect for the Nucleus One?

Hi Carl,

Thanks for helping me out ! Have tried for two weeks now to get my new Nucleus One to work !

I have a Innuos Zen Mark III for four years now running Roon without any trouble. It only has a 2TB hard drive, so a Nucleus One is the next step.

Got a Nucleus One, have a 4TB ssd installed. And want to move music files onto the Nucleus One.

Tried dragging the files over, crashed ten times! Tried to use the backup from NAS, same result.

Finally last week the Nucleus One would not let me Log in!

Hope that you can help.

Have been a big Roon fan, and the program has been flawless on the Innous!

Greetings

I’m assume you dragged the file onto the Roon app, I’d not recommend that way, I would point a file browser to the shared drive on the Nucleus One.

However, first you need to confirm that internal storage drive is available using the Nucleus’s web-admin interface. See below on how to view this page …

Please check on that page and confirm that that storage drive is formatted and available.

As you are having trouble logging in, I would also recommend re-installing the Operating System and Roon Server … all can be done from that page.

If after that you still have trouble, please post some screenshots of what you’re seeing when it goes wrong.

Hi @Jeppe_Michael_Jensen,
Welcome to the Roon community! I’m sorry that a problem is what brought you here for the first time. The troubleshooting steps @Carl suggested are a great place to start. Please give them a try, and let us know if you need any further assistance—we’re happy to help!

Have re-installed software…

… and formatted the internal drive.

Got this message: Settings : the Innuos Zen is in “Roon endpoint” mode.
Still the same, not able to login on the Nucleus One.

to this:

I click on my account, and it returns to this:

Sorry, but I think it is getting even more out of control !

Here is the message that I get when I try to reset “Roon Database & Settings”

Two observations:

  1. You had your private email address showing in that “Welcome back” screenshot. It’s not a good idea to show private email addresses in a public forum - they can be harvested by spambots, so I’ve blanked it out for you.
  2. In that screenshot of the reset database error message I see that the database shows that you have 0% of the 86 GB available and 100% of your music storage available. I suspect that you have copied some music files into the wrong place - putting them on the m.2 SSD (used for the Roon OS and Roon) instead of on the 2.5" internal SSD.

You need to copy them to \\nucleusone\Data\Storage\InternalStorage

Probably best to start over by clicking the Reinstall button for the Nucleus One’s Operating System on that screen.

Thanks a lot. Foolish of me !
I have reinstalled the operationsystem, but it still says 0% of 86 GB availiable !

Then see if you can use your Mac Finder to explore the folders under \\nucleusone\Data to find out where you accidently put your music files and delete them… (files inside the InternalStorage folder can be left - this is the 2.5" SSD)

PS, you didn’t also set up a Backup to store backups on the m.2 SSD, did you? This is also not recommended…

THANKS. I know that I am not wizard ! That helped me a lot. As you can see on the screenshot, I can now log in to the Nucleus One. The InternalStorage is empty. But how do I move my music files to the internal drive ? Should I try to drag the folder “backup-002737” onto the InternalStorage ? Or move individual folders in the music folder?

Does your backup-002737 folder contain music files and folders, or is it actually a backup folder? If the latter, then don’t put it on the Nucleus One.

It looks as though your Music folder is the one that contains music files and folders, so I think you should move the contents of that folder into \\nucleusone\Data\Storage\InternalStorage.

You haven’t yet formatted the 4Tb drive , click on format bottom left.

Until it’s formatted you can’t copy to it

Thanks. Now I have. I think is working now. Now I just need to copy 2 TB over to the internal harddrive. Thanks all for your help
