· Roon core was on Rhein Z1 V2. More than 6months ROON working. After updating ROON Z1 does not work. I want back previous setting. Rhein Z1 V2 can be unauthorized to go back to previous setting on window PC?

This is a Silent Angel issue and they are working on a solution, which seems to be coming soon. See the central tracking thread for this issue:

Yes. For now you can just connect the remote to the RoonServer on Windows (if it’s running; start it if it isn’t). It will tell you that the license has to be transferred from the Rhein to the Windows, server, simply approve this.

Thanks to your advice, ROON started to work again on PC. But another problem occurs. On ROON REMOTE " waiting for your roon server " message does not stop and remote control does not work. I tried to put IP address of PC into the page of " waiting for your roon server " but I did not find anyware a space to input IP address. Please kindly advice how to fix it.

Make sure that the Windows firewall settings are correct. Or recreate them.

I disabled firewall of Antivirus but the problem continues.

Hello @bmwm3

This is a known problem with the Silent Angel firmware rather than something in your Roon setup, and it is being tracked here, so please follow that thread for updates:

Can’t connect to Roon Server after 2.71 firmware update on Silent Angel Rhein Z1C (ref#O5DD0A)

The fix comes from Silent Angel, not from us, and they have already issued firmware for it. So the shortest route back to your normal setup is to go to them directly:

  1. Please contact Silent Angel support and ask for the firmware that resolves the Roon Server 2.71 problem on the Rhein Z1.
  2. Then open VitOS Manager, go to Settings, and update the firmware.
  3. After that, in VitOS Manager go to Applications, uninstall Roon Server, and reinstall it.

Those last two steps are Silent Angel’s own instructions as reported by other owners in that thread, and they have worked for several people.

Hello @bmwm3,

Wanted to follow up on this. Since this looks tied to the Silent Angel firmware issue we mentioned, were you able to contact Silent Angel support? Since the other thread is tracking the issue more broadly, we’ll go ahead and close this one. Please let us know of any updates you can share in that thread.
