Unexplained Focus Contiguous Tracks Album filtering

This album comes from a 2 CD rip (Linn CKD 350, Mozart Symphonies 29, 31, 32, 35, 36 by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra with Sir Charles Mackerras) which contains 5 different works. In my Roon App “My Album” view all 5 works are displayed as distinct albums but if I select “Contiguous Tracks” then this album fails to display and the other 4 remain. But the “disc-track” values for this album’s tracks are contiguous so I would expect it to be displayed. Am I failing to understand something or is this a fault?

Thanks in advance.

If this is a 2 CD set, yet it is being displayed in Roon as 5 distinct albums (one symphony per album), then I would examine your metadata for errors. Something is clearly amiss, because Roon knows about this 2 CD set:

Thanks.

I’ve edited the metadata in my files so that they’re in a single album with 2 CDs and then merged the Roon albums to create one from the five I had originally. It now displays as one album with five groupings and behaves as an album with contiguous files.

I’m obviously still trying to get my head around how to sort out the metadata in my files for Classical music and multiple works on CD albums. Better to let Roon do it I think!

Roon tries to identify albums, so it’s best to ensure that each album can be matched to a folder containing the album tracks. For boxsets and multiple cds in a set, then be aware that Roon expects to see a particular folder and naming structure. See:

Yes, that seems to work. All I have to do is make sure the tags are right, move the files to the necessary folder and Roon does the rest.

Thank you again for your help.
