Unit disappears when switching between wifi adapters

Hi @spockfish , just trying to clear this up. I just tried to switch from the RPi4 internal wifi board to an external one (which I know is supported, because I used it very successfully on another endpoint). After pressing the ‘Configure’ button, the unit went missing and it now looks like I have to flash the card again.

A few thoughts came up. I remembered having this issue before. Am I doing something wrong? Should I never switch directly from wireless to wireless? Should I always switch from a wireless adapter to wired and only then to the new wireless adapter?

to be clear: you selected the external adapter and performed a scan? And selected the network after that?

Correct. That all went well, but it requires a “Configure” step and then it kept configuring forever and I was unable to retrieve the unit.

Can you send me feedback? Without rebooting? (that would require cable…)

No I can’t. Looks like I will have to reflash, can’t approach the Pi any more, it does not get an IP assigned.
