Unwanted Additions to Library from Core Activity (ref#BVX459)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· unwanted additions to my library when I use the Core for anything but my tracks/library

Tell us about your home network

· iMac with a fido K7

Can you please describe what you are doing and what kind of unwanted additions this is causing?

so if I play any of the mix lists on my Roon Core or use the radio. the track count expands on my core and my arc. I am not dong anything knowingly to add these tracks.

So you are saying that playing a playlist adds the tracks to the library? Where are you seeing this number increase? On Home?

If you go to My Tracks and sort the list by Date Added, do they show up as the most recently added tracks? (You have to do this on a PC or tablet, and you may have to add Date Added as a sort column by clicking the gearwheel icon. The phone app doesn’t have this option):

The number next to my tracks will say something like 3546 to 3105 (the legitimate count) on my arc it will say 3546

And one of the numbers changes when you play a playlist?

I suspect this is a known issue where nothing actually gets added to the library, but Roon erroneously duplicates some objects. This definitely happens sometimes with albums and artists and there is an open ticket for this. In this case, it is just a temporary visual duplication and doesn’t break anything.

To understand if what you are experiencing is similar, it would help if you could answer this question, which would tell us if anything actually gets added to the library:

Hey @Jeff_Jackson,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! You’re in good hands with @Suedkiez - they’re correct with the above reply, would you be able to provide us this information?

We’re seeing ~5.3k total tracks in your current library, does this sound correct?

We’ll be monitoring for your reply and results, thank you! :+1:
