I have Roon Core on a NUC NUC8iBEH2. Still running on v1.0.Build 259. I have occasional dropouts of approx 1-2 sec a couple of times during an hour. Streaming goes fine if I dont use ROON. I have tried to update (Reinstall and Restart from the menu)from v1.0 but the UI in the web Optimizied Core Kit view still shows v1.0. When view the settings with my iPad I see that an update of software 2.56 1583 earlyaccess. the problem remains.
Describe your network setup
NUC is hardwired from a ASUS RTBU-58U, and Streamer Auralic G1.1 also wired to the router. (same issue in WiFi mode). From G1.1 XLR to processor Deqx Pre8
I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.
Diagnostic logging shows RoonServer starting to receive the audio stream from Qobuz’ servers, but the buffer then stops receiving any data. The issue only seems to occur in logs when your server requests data via the content delivery network specified by the Qobuz API for your particular geoIP.
Does this issue occur with both local library and Qobuz tracks?
Does it occur with any Zone other than the Auralic? What about the iPad speakers, or another system output of a Roon device?
Can you reproduce the issue if you restrict Qobuz to lower quality streaming in Roon Settings → Services → Qobuz?
The drop out issue happens only with streamed content (Qobuz) and not when playing from my NAS.
I can not play via ROON on my other streamer DEQX Pre8, its still a beta version…, and not ROON enabled. So this happens only (?) on ROON and G1.1. I only use my iPad as a controller and very seldom play music on the iPad. But playing direct (Qobuz), without ROON to the G1.1 and the Pre8 does not make any problems.
I reset the Settings to 16/44 for Qobuz and have now played 2 hours with 1 drop out at 09.19h. I would however like to play some more during the weekend now to get a bit more info.
I will add some more info after the weekend.
Best Regards
Harald
On the 2 nov 08.03 and 11.49 two more drop outs.
Changed back from 44/16 to full res. Played a one hour with the LDS Auralic software without drop outs.
Thanks for the update that this issue only occurs with streamed content. We have a ticket in with development, and we’ll follow up once we have more information to share.
