Updates should explicitly note when something critical changes

I usually try to keep things up to date. My configuration is not too odd – I have 2 Raspberry Pi’s and a OPPO BDP. I use Arc to my vehicle. My problem is, when you push an update, more that 50% of the time everything breaks. I mean I can’t play music at all. I usually have to reboot my mac server, the router, the Pi’s need to be unplugged. Then finally, for unknown reasons, it starts working again. So – could you please indicate in your update message what the update is for, and if it’s REALLY IMPORTANT, because it takes sometimes me hours to get things going again.

Have you noticed that there is a forum category where release notes are posted for all updates?

On the top right of this page, you can also subscribe to the category, so that you get a notification on the forum or an email (depending on your forum notification settings) whenever something is posted:

As a side note, updates should not break half of your stuff. I’d suggest opening a Support topic to get this fixed

This sounds like a discovery issue caused by an underlying networking problem, which presents itself when you have an update.

Consequently, please complete a Support request as suggested by @Suedkiez.

To equip the Roon Technical Support team to assist you directly, please follow this link to provide the details of your case to Technical Support: Technical Support Request

Respond to the prompts there to ensure that you’ve performed basic troubleshooting and to ensure Technical Support has the full details necessary to expedite Technical Support’s investigation into the case.

Your responses will create a ticket on Roon’s support tracking system and auto-generate a Community thread in the appropriate section.

Because this Community thread will be in a public forum, please do not include any personal information, such as your email address, postal address or telephone number in your submission.
